Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy treatment?
No, a referral from a GP or specialist is not required to see us. You can either ring or come in and see us to make an appointment. ACC forms can be filled out here in the clinic.
Q. What should I bring to my appointment? Any x-rays/scans you have had related to the injury. Please bring any other relevant medical information such as hospital discharge forms, surgeon’s notes, doctors notes and or medical certificates.
Q. What happens if I need an x-ray or to see a specialist? Once we have assessed you we are able to refer you on to any other service we feel is right for you such as x-rays or specialists.
Q. What to expect on your first appointment? There will be part of the session devoted to asking you questions about the injury/condition e.g. when did it start? Where is the pain? What causes your pain? We will then perform quick little tests to confirm a diagnosis for your problem. This will be followed by a treatment plan discussion with you in order to treat the injury/condition as best we can and meet your goals.
Q. What do I wear? It is best if you can please wear clothing that will make the injured area accessible. For example please wear shorts if you have a hip, knee or foot injury.
Q. How long does a treatment session last? 30 minutes per session.
Q. Is your clinic wheelchair accessible? Yes, although there is no specific disability park, there are usually always plenty of parks in front of our office, and many more in the service lane at the rear running parallel to Oxford Street (SH1).
Q. What if I can’t make it to my appointment? Please call and let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend your appointment.
Q. What are your payment options? Cash, cheque or online banking, (no EFTPOS or credit card).

Our Testimonials
I have been a client of Physio+Rehab on a number occasions as a result of various injuries. I have attended Ingrid on each occasion. She has very good knowledge of human physiology and each treatment she has undertaken for me has been entirely successful. I would not think of going anywhere else for treatment.
At the age of 71 I feel more alive and fitter than I have been in many years. Getting off the couch and to the gym has been an excellent move for me. My fitness levels have increased beyond belief. Thanks to Ingrid and Otto.
I managed to break my leg skiing and it needed surgery from the great team at Palmerston North hospital to put in a plate and screws. The surgery went well but after nearly 8 weeks in a cast with no movement, I could barely walk and even then needed crutches. Fortunately Otto at Physio+Rehab took me under his wing and gave me a succession of exercises tailored to gradually get more and more movement back. I started by using the well equipped gym in their office, which under Otto’s supervision helped me learn to do it the right way. Yes it was painful at times, but all in a good cause. There is a nice friendly personal vibe to the Physioplusrehab team works. I then progressed to doing exercises from home, and week by week I improved. Now one year on I have my complete freedom of movement and strength back. No pain, and my surgeon was very impressed with my flexibility. Thanks Otto I am very grateful.
